Our Story

Thin Air Gear was born out of necessity. Veteran Mark R. Lewis traveled through airports watching soldiers haul two heavy, 100-pound olive green duffels alongside their weapons and kit. He understood immediately that nobody had built what they actually needed.
What followed was a vision for a bag that could carry everything a soldier carries: tough, wheeled, load-bearing, ergonomic, and built for 365 days a year. That vision attracted the attention of Special Operations Forces, all military services and federal agencies who required gear equal to the mission. Two decades of field testing and American craftsmanship shaped what Thin Air Gear builds today.
That legacy is carried forward by Matt, a graduate of Virginia Military Institute (VMI), and Anthony, a Navy Veteran, who chose this mission because the people wearing the flag on their shoulder deserve gear that performs when it matters most.
What was engineered for the most demanding operators in the world is now available to you, built to the same standard, held to the same test.
The long haul continues.
